Illumaesthetic/BD Engineering Helps MotoIQ! Mike and Christa Kojima's Subaru STi
We had the pleasure of working with our close friend Mike Kojima on a singular oil cooler duct for his daughter Christa's car.
As usual, we started off by scanning the factory bumper cover, using AeSub orange to get maximum detail on the scan.
From there, we took our scan data, imported a watertight mesh, but did something unique - we did not reverse and remake the file, but instead took the mesh, cut the relevant area out, and remodeled only the modified section - meaning part of the file was raw scan, and the other half was a modified mesh.
Printed, you would not be able to tell at all! Once delivered, Christa worked her magic and got the part sanded, smoothed and painted.
The finished part has yet to go through comprehensive temperature testing, but we're excited to see it on the car and love how it looks.
